Lesson 1: Assessment in 21st Century

     Learning can never be identified as either effective or not unless proper assessment is conducted. As technology advances and industrial revolutions goes beyond, learning also evolved throughout the ages. These days, you will be hearing and seeing terms associated with 21st century. In education it is not only limited to 21st century learning and skills, but also to 21st century assessment.


The core of the 21st century learning skills focuses on:

  1. Critical thinking
  2. Creativity
  3. Communication
  4. Collaboration



21st century assessment focus on how these four learning aspects can be gauged properly serving the three purposes of assessment.

 

Characteristics of 21st Century Assessment

 



There are eight characteristics of 21st Century Assessment. Those are:

  1. Responsive
  2. Flexible
  3. Integrated
  4. Informative
  5. Multiple Methods
  6. Communicated
  7. Technically sound
  8. Systematic
